Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide information about products or promotions.
- Resolve customer issues and ensure a positive shopping experience.
Cash Handling:
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment securely.
- Provide correct change to customers and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
Checkout Efficiency:
- Scan and bag items quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure that all items are properly priced and labeled.
- Monitor and manage the checkout area to avoid congestion and maintain a smooth flow of customers.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail:
- Double-check prices and quantities to ensure accurate transactions.
- Verify age-restricted purchases and follow company policies.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
- Monitor and restock bags, receipt paper, and other supplies as needed.
- Assist with general store cleanliness and restocking tasks during slow periods.
Qualifications:
- Degree in any related field
- Proven experience 3 years as a cashier or in a customer service role is a plus.
- Strong numerical and communication skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with POS systems.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
